Sunken Ship Michelle, the Italian cargo vessel, stands as a captivating diving attraction. Its unfortunate tale unfolded in May 1983 when the ship ran aground north of the Veli Rat lighthouse on Dugi Otok. For years, the ship protruded above sea level, with only its mast remaining visible, gradually sinking over time. However, it still rests at a shallow depth, allowing for easy exploration without the need for deep dives. Diving the Michelle wreck is a relatively simple and low-risk experience, making it ideal for beginners venturing into wreck diving. Resting on a sandy seabed at a depth of 6 meters, only the bow and the foremast peek above the surface, with the stern just below.
